Anne Charnock, a member of the Republican Party, serves in the West Virginia State Senate representing District 17. She assumed office on February 6, 2025, following her appointment by Governor Patrick Morrisey. Her current term is set to end on December 1, 2028.

Anne Charnock brings a wealth of experience to her role as a state senator. Before her appointment, she served as a municipal judge in Charleston, West Virginia, from 2010 to 2022. Her legal background, combined with her deep understanding of the challenges faced by her community, positions her as a dedicated advocate for her constituents. A graduate of George Washington High School, she pursued higher education at West Virginia University, earning both her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees.

Charnock’s commitment to public service is evident in her active participation in various legislative committees. She serves as the Vice Chair of the Confirmations Committee and is a member of several others, including Banking and Insurance, Economic Development, Energy, Industry and Mining, Government Organization, and Judiciary.
