Blake Sanders, a member of the Republican Party, serves in the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing District 9. He assumed office on November 11, 2024, and his current term is set to end on November 9, 2026.
Born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, Blake Sanders has deep roots in his community. He graduated from Clemson University in 2006 with a degree in Landscape Architecture, becoming the first in his family to earn a college degree. His professional journey led him to establish Studio Main, a planning and landscape architecture firm, where he has worked on projects that span national and international scales. His work focuses on developing parks, streets, and strategic economic development plans, always guided by the principle of serving the people.
Before his tenure in the South Carolina House of Representatives, Sanders served as the Mayor of West Pelzer, a role that allowed him to further his commitment to community development. He has also been actively involved in various local organizations, including the Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study, Anderson Area Transportation Study, and the Anderson County Economic Development. His leadership roles have extended to being the past President of the Anderson County Municipal Association and the Palmetto Business Association.
Blake Sanders is not only a dedicated public servant but also a family man. He and his wife, Ashley, returned to West Pelzer in 2007 to raise their children, Lane and Gracie, in the community they love. The Sanders family enjoys spending time outdoors, exploring parks, and contributing to their local community. They are also involved in The Lincoln Taproom, a family-oriented establishment owned and operated by Blake’s parents.
In the South Carolina House of Representatives, Sanders serves on the House Legislative Oversight and the Medical, Military, Public, and Municipal Affairs Committees. His legislative priorities reflect his commitment to improving the lives of his constituents in District 9, focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, and community development.
