Brett Barker is a member of the Republican Party and ran for election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 51. He won the general election on November 5, 2024, defeating his opponent Ryan Condon.

Brett Barker earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Iowa. His career experience includes working as a pharmacist, which has provided him with a strong background in healthcare and public health. Prior to his tenure in the Iowa House of Representatives, Brett Barker served as the mayor of Nevada, Iowa, and was also a member of the city council.
