Christian Hermanson is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Iowa House of Representatives, representing District 59. He assumed office on January 1, 2025, and his current term ends on January 1, 2027. Hermanson is a member of the Republican Party and ran for election to the Iowa House of Representatives to represent District 59. He won the general election on November 5, 2024, defeating Jeremy True.

Before his political career, Hermanson served in the U.S. Army National Guard from 1995 to 2000 and the U.S. Air Force Reserve from 2000 to 2024. His extensive military service has provided him with a strong foundation in leadership and public service. In addition to his military career, Hermanson has worked as a police officer with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In the Iowa House of Representatives, Hermanson serves on several standing committees, including Natural Resources, Public Safety, Veterans Affairs, and Ways and Means, where he holds the position of Vice Chair. He is also a member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Infrastructure, and Capitals.
