Homar Gómez is a dedicated public servant and a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 2nd Hampshire District. Born in Puerto Rico, Gómez has always been passionate about serving his community and making a positive impact on the lives of those around him. His journey into politics began with his work at Mitchell Funeral Home, where he gained valuable experience and developed a deep understanding of the needs and concerns of his community.
Gómez’s commitment to public service led him to serve on the Easthampton City Council, where he worked tirelessly to address local issues and improve the quality of life for residents. His dedication and hard work did not go unnoticed, and in 2024, he ran for election to the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Gómez won the general election on November 5, 2024, and assumed office on January 1, 2025.
As a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Gómez is focused on addressing the needs of his constituents and working on legislation that promotes social justice, economic development, and environmental sustainability. He serves on several important committees, including the Joint Committee on Agriculture, the Joint Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government, the Joint Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security, and the Joint Committee on Revenue.
