Biography

District State Rep. Jennifer Wortz was elected to represent the 35th District in the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2024 and assumed office in January 2025. Her district includes the City of Hudson in Lenawee County and all of Hillsdale and Branch Counties.

Committees Rep. Wortz is the Vice Chair of the House Agriculture Committee. She also serves as a member of the House Natural Resources and Tourism Committee, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules.

Education Rep. Wortz graduated from Waldron Area Schools in 1997 and Michigan State University in 2000 with a degree in Agricultural Communications.

Public Service and Affiliations Rep. Wortz most recently served as the manager of the Branch County Conservation District. Prior to that role, she was elected to serve on the Quincy Community Schools Board of Education. She has also been a member of the Branch County Farm Bureau, a State Officer for the Michigan FFA, and the chair for the Branch County Moms for Liberty chapter. She has also volunteered with the Beginnings Care for Life Center in Coldwater for over 10 years.

Personal Rep. Wortz grew up on a small cash crop and beef farm in southern Hillsdale County. She currently resides in Quincy with her husband, Nate. They have four children and two grandchildren, and they own and operate Central Grace Farms, which raises chickens for Miller Poultry.
